One of the most original battle concepts presented in BBoying must be The Octogon. Created by Alien Ness in 2001, The Octogon was formulated due to a necessity for B-boying competitions to exist in a controlled environment. Conceptually, The Octagon is an eight-sided parameter in which the competitors must remain inside.
In this confined area of space, a B-boy or B-girl must out-dance, out-move, and out-style their opponent, all while directing movement and freezes in their opponent’s direction.
